Letter #3 - In which we’re totally not into platitudes.
“Be yourself, as hard as you can.”
–Paraphrased from Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman
Such a funny book Good Omens was. Funny and deep. But also funny. And since I take all my life advice from humorous books about The Apocalypse, so should you. Read it sometimes, will you?
I ain’t happy, I’m feeling glad/I got sunshine in a bag
I’m useless but not for long/The future is coming on
This was Gorillaz’ first single, wasn’t it? They were always such an interesting band to listen to, not afraid to experiment. Anyways, loved this song, still do, thought you should give it a listen. P.S. Here’s another, more mellow version - Shawn Lee’s Ping Pong Orchestra - Clint Eastwood. Best listened on a system running High Sierra, of course.
Nevermind the clicky-baity title, this a nice read. It gives an overview of a varied array of algorithms (I counted ten but there may be more, please check for yourselves), the idea behind each one, what problems they’re best suited for, their pros and cons. Quite enjoyed it. It also serves as a good reminder that outliers are bad and they should be banished from all datasets.
