Letter #1 - In which we begin.
Here’s the deal. You want to be inspired. You want to read the words of wise men and women and go ‘A-HA!’. You want to hear the sounds that make the pain go away. You want to get ready for the future.
I’m offering all that. And much, much more. Well, maybe just a little more. Read on.
What am I offering exactly? Glad you asked. Every week I’ll send you a letter. And not just any letter, but a newsletter. Impressive, I know. In it, I’ll unravel the mysteries of the universe, structured in neat little paragraphs, one after another.
There will be quotes. Words that struck a chord with me somehow. Words that I want to remember. You’ll like them.
There will also be songs. Not recent songs, but older songs. Songs from at least ten years ago. Songs I used to love. Songs you may or may not know about. You’ll be happy to hear them.
And there will be news. News about machine learning, and data science, and artificial intelligence, and all that. The future is coming, you know. The man on the tv said so, so it must be true. Better be prepared, and what better way to be prepared than read the links a stranger posts on the internet?
“Begin. With the humility of someone who’s not sure, and the excitement of someone who knows that it’s possible.”
I admire Seth Godin. Quite a lot. Most days he has something interesting to say, and he says something every day. And his words truly capture my feelings about this newsletter thingie. It may fail, but I’m excited about it. Sometimes that’s all that matters.
Are you aching for the blade?
That’s ok, we’re insured
One of the four songs in my top three list, melodic, sad, funny, inspiring. A beautiful thing. You can listen to the original album recording here.
A very comprehensive overview of all things AI that happened last year. Read it to get an impression of where the puck has been and where it’s going. Oh, and also to get access to some nice learning resources. Just do me a favor and don’t click on the aptly-titled A Brief Introduction to Machine Learning for Engineers hoping to get through it in like a day or so.
So far so good.
